Simply giving someone a legal form (or filling it out) is probably not the unauthorized practice of law. However, providing a particular form based on a specific set of facts and goals provided by that person could indeed constitute UPL. My guess is that LegalZoom crosses that line at least some of the time.

I do think there is a market for lawyers who bundle legal advice with an online document assembly service. That is something we are looking at with regard to our estate planning practice.

It’s a great website where people write their own spin off’s to the amazing seires, make Bella the beautiful vampire and Edward the mouthwateringly good human. Make Bella be turned into a vampire when Edward leaves in New Moon or even have the stories as All Humans. Meaning, eveyone is human and not vampires.

[...] A story recently came across my desk about a complaint filed in Missouri against LegalZoom, alleging that LegalZoom engages in the unauthorized practice of law and requesting class certification. What caught my interest on this matter is not so much the facts of the case, but the context under which it has arisen. (Read about it on LawVibe.com) [...]

The issue of plastic bags is an international one with environmental groups and supervisors from various countries pushing for them to be banned or limited. There doesn't seem to be a clear cut answer emerging from any of the arguments put forward and perhaps the beginning of the solution should lie with the individual consumer making a personal decision to limit their own use of plastic?
