Re: Computer Science To Law Peter:
Hi there. Although I'm not a lawyer, or even attending law school yet, I have been reading up on what to do to be accepted to a law school. Universally, it seems that all lawyers must have a knack for being able to write great arguments. Not necessarily arguing them in court, but certainly writing them. To that end I would say you should ask yourself how are your writing abilities?
If they are acceptable, then I would think you are in a great position to become a patent lawyer for computer software clients. I have seen several posts for these types of skills while going through my own job searches. I don't see computer software getting phased out anytime soon, but definitely ask some lawyers that have been in the profession a while and get their opinions.
If you feel your skills are not up to par, then you may want to consider taking some English classes prior to going back to school. It would seem to me, that most people would not fall short on the writing area, but the vocabulary. I'm sure if I have a weak area as a technical person, that would be the one. |
